An unidentified man threatened to “shoot everyone in the store” unless his demands were met during an armed robbery in Oakland Park. Broward Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the culprit.

At 7:25 p.m. on January 13, a slender man walked into the Dollar General at 2121 W. Oakland Park Boulevard in the city of Oakland Park. The armed robber covered his face with a black shirt and used another shirt to hide his gun. He announced that he wanted the money in the registers and would hurt everyone in the store if the employees didn’t comply.

The store’s security video shows the employees opening the register and then slowing walking away. The video also captures the robbery occurring just steps from a female customer and a young girl. The two slowly back away from the armed man as he grabs the cash from the register.

The robber is described as a black male, approximately 6’ 1” tall, with a slim build. He wore orange gloves, a blue plaid shirt and black pants. He was seen fleeing the scene in a grey, 4-door, newer model Chevrolet, possibly an Impala.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Detective Mohammad Razi at (954) 321-4547 or anonymously report information to Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS (8477) or online at browardcrimestoppers.org. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for an anonymous tip that leads to an arrest.
